Enthusiastic volunteers are needed!
Volunteers 18 years of age and up work with museum staff, art educators, and other individuals. Visitor Service Assistants gain customer service experience at the information desk during daily activities and during special events and programs. Children’s Class Assistants gain child-care and teaching experience as they learn hands-on about art museum education as a profession. Docent volunteers complete a comprehensive training program and lead interactive art appreciation tours for school groups and community groups.
Volunteering is a great way to become familiar with contemporary art and artists while working as part of a professional art museum team. Flexible schedules and exciting opportunities are available.

How It Works
You transfer appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares you have owned for more than one year to the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.
The museum sells your securities and uses the proceeds for our programs.
Benefits
You receive an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer (even if you originally paid much less for them).
You pay no capital gains tax on the transfer when the stock is sold.
Giving appreciated stock can be more beneficial than giving cash. The “cost” of your gift is often less than the deduction you gain by making it.

Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday.
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 27. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art is thrilled to join the #GivingTuesday movement as a means to acknowledge and unite our community and further our mission of providing arts education.
OOMA aspires to become the premier source of diversified and engaging art education for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We see art as a road that leads to self-reflection, creative problem solving, and social change; it creates dynamic and profound interactions that shape personal identities and strengthens our Gulf Coast community.
